We aim to bring together artists, scientists and academics of other fields interested and working in the artistic portrayal of different aspects of conflict, predominantly conflict related to war.

One of our main objectives is to engage with current issues related to shock reaction, the culture of fear and anxiety, art engagement in the context of war, general responses to conflict and conflict resolution, as well as to explore the reciprocal social, cultural and psychological aspects of arts and conflict in an attempt to understand the potential of art in coping with and transforming conflict in positive ways.

At Art & Science Vs. Conflict in the Global Present, we will explore how art provides a tribute to the memory of the missing from conflict areas and how science contributes to Justice and Redress in postconflict societies.
